Welcome to Xeno Science Foundation(XSF). Our goal is to provide a greater knowledge and livelihood for all rational beings through intergalactic exploration, examination of xenobiological entities, and utilization of xenoflora substances.

History

Xeno Science Foundation was founded in 2801 by Naomi Sagan, a billionaire inventor, and famous Garron II activist. Upon the ratification of the Fair Chance Act and creation of The Arc, Ms. Sagan saw it as a opportune moment to actively seek out xenobiological life.

By 2811 the foundation is looking brighter than ever with a moderately sized fleet of exploration and scientific vessels. Continued funding is all but guaranteed through Ms. Sagan’s numerous patents and investments.

In 2815 XSFs’ first expedition is launched, with Ms.Sagan herself as captain. Mission? Discover jump points beyond the Orion System. Tragically, Ms. Sagans’ first expedition proves to be her last, as the entire fleet is never heard from again. Rumors of a Vanduul raid, or slave trading pirates flourish, but no evidence is found.

2818, the organizations’ darkest hour. With more than half the fleet MIA, its members turn to Sagans’ two sons, Cosmo and Astro, the sole inheritors of her estate. Teenagers who do not share their mothers fantasies, they quickly cut the funding to their inheritances’ biggest expenditure, XSF. Now leaderless and without funding, many members fear it to be the end of the foundation.

2820. Two years. Two years of barely scraping by and the organization has finally reached a boiling point. The new head of operations Finn Makay is no leader. Squandering the remaining funds on fruitless R&D projects, pressures begin to rise. Unable to cope with the stress and anxiety that comes with that much responsibility, Makay resigns and appoints a young ambitions Callix Floyd to take his chair.

2821. Acclimating to his new position, Floyd believes radical changes need to be made to sustain the foundation. By selling off most of the remaining fleet, Floyd now has some money in the coffers, and operating costs are lower than ever. Floyd changes the manifesto of the organization to now include the processing, utilization, and selling of xenoflora to create a revenue stream. While some worry about industrialization, no one can complain about food on the table, and Floyd promises his main intentions are in line with the foundations origins.

2845. Floyd’s economic pursuits have paid off, and the organization’s financial outlook is once again stable. Expeditions are being hosted on a bi-yearly rotation, and real progress is being made. Yet only a fraction of what it was almost 35 years ago, Naomi Sagan’s vision is finally coming to fruition.

2901. On the 100th year of the foundations beginning, Callix Floyd dies from an unknown virus on an expedition. New quarantine protocols are created to prevent this tragedy from ever being replicated. Upon Floyd’s expiry, the organization decides to become completely democratic rather than appoint a new leader.

2945. Although Sagan and Floyds’ legacy is still strong, each member now has a say in how the foundation is run. Preferring to remain small and tight knit, our efficiency is now stronger than ever. Present day our foundation operates much the same as it did the start of the century, and has gained much respect from both the Human and Xi’an scientific communities.

3000. This space belongs to you. Want to bring a new age of scientific enlightenment? Want to bring a change to the way we see ourselves in the universe? The future belongs to you! Apply today, and create tomorrow.

Manifesto

Xeno Science Foundation’s sole intention is to discover new life, be that intelligent, primitive, fauna, or flora. To sustain the foundation, if beneficial properties are found in unconscious xenobiological entities, we will sustainably harvest and sell these properties. In the process we will discover new jump points, new systems, and new worlds. With this new-found information, we aim to broaden the knowledge of all rational beings, regardless of species. Along with these noble motives, we will strive to promote peace and understanding, to usher in a new era of intergalactic consciousness.
