Mission Overview

In late 2948, after several quiet years, Stanton was subjected to a dramatic uptick in illegal substance trafficking which rapidly overwhelmed the planetary security organizations throughout the system. In response to the increased risk to the organization and its interests, Vanguard High Command has ordered the creation and training of an elite light fighter squadron.

This squadron’s primary goal is to stem the flow of illegal substances throughout Stanton, requiring the interception of illicit goods and elimination of those individuals and organizations who profit from such ventures. Additionally, the squadron’s duties mandate increasing Vanguard’s state of readiness through training aerospace and combat pilots in advanced dog fighting techniques.

In remembrance of the old Earth police forces tasked with this same goal Vanguard High Command formally recognizes this squadron as VICE.

Mindset

Everyone possesses the power of greatness, but it’s a matter of time and proper mindset. The person who can be blown up 29 times in a row and still come back for that 30th fight will succeed and grow quickly. Bring a positive attitude, an open mindedness to learning, and understand that your senior squadron members have your best interest at heart. Learn, laugh and have fun, but most importantly DON’T GIVE UP.

Every week it gets easier, but doing it every week – that’s the hard part.

Deployment

VICE Squadron pilots can be deployed alone, in groups or as part of a larger fleet. It will be common to work closely with TF Witcher as combat air support while Witcher forces neutralize threats on the ground.

The squadron will deploy from stations throughout the system or, in extended operations, from the VSS Unity, the Vanguard flagship. Unity berths three Arrows and contains the medical facility to support the squadron in combat action. A downed pilot will receive care in the 890 medical facility and return to action via combat-ready Arrows onboard.

Competitive Play

VICE Squadron is a competitive unit that competes in ranked PVP modes via Squadron Battles, Battle Royale and Rated Duels. Vice conducts org vs org fighter skirmishes and will send pilot teams to pvp tournaments. The squadron looks for oppportunities to test itself against other competitive teams.

Open Training

Training with the VICE dogfighting education program is open to everyone in the org. Squadron members will help you establish the basics and guide you toward meeting trainee prerequisites if you are interested in being a member of the squadron. There are no prerequisites for general training, however some advanced training will be limited to members who have achieved certain squadron status.

Squadron Status

Squadron members come in four flavors: Trainee, Pilot, Wingman, ACE, CAG. Each tier of membership will focus on growing individuals in the lower tiers to improve and grow into the higher tiers over time. This is a learning program intended to provide members who have an interest in light fighter combat a path to develop their abilities and ultimately compete outside the org via tournaments or in-game PVP events/scenarios.

If you feel like you’re losing your edge or an extended absence has your wrists stiff, we are more than happy to get you back into shape. No demotion. Status is about experience, not skill. What has already been earned cannot be lost.
