Formation and first steps into the unknown

Established in 2002 as a small collective of like-minded individuals seeking technological advancement, freedom from oppression, and justice for all; the organisation known as The Vindicators was born.

Two hundred years later, almost to the day of it’s foundation, a large expedition was set up upon the discovery of a newly discovered wormhole leading to what we now call the Auraxis system. A year later the 2203 expedition was launched and headed for the wormhole. It was initially believed that the new system was potentially trillions of light years beyond our own, far further than humanity had ever glimpsed before. Upon entering the rift in space and taking readings from the other side, this theory was only partially true. The Auraxis system was found to exist upon a different dimensional plane from our own – a wormhole to another reality. After confirming the stability of the rift from the other side, the expedition went planetside on the only habitable planet nearby – a giant resource rich planet from which the system takes it’s name; Auraxis.

Suddenly and without warning, before further supplies or all important terraforming tech could be sent to establish other liveable planets, the wormhole collapsed. Earth’s new colony was cut off and lost to us.

Experimentation and the Return

The readings taken that day were not totally worthless, although taking a lengthy time to put them to use, over the next two hundred and nine years Vindicator scientists working on dimensional gateways tried to re-establish a link back to Auraxis. Small laboratory controlled portals were set up leading to different realities, but with a couple of drawbacks – they were only big enough for a single person at a time to enter, and only organic matter would pass through. Multiple expeditions were sent to different reality zones such as the SWTOR system, the Wildstar system, and the Warhammer and Darkfall realms. Some of these new colonies thrived, whereas others slowly fell by the wayside as resources were used up or their portals were disconnected. But in 2412 a connection back to Auraxis was made. After setting aside Earth’s social and political differences with the formation of the United Nations of Earth (UNE) in 2380, what we discovered back on Auraxis horrified us – WAR!

The Stars Our Destination

It is now 2944, and as humanity has pushed further into the deep reaches of space, the UNE has given way to the United Empire of Earth (UEE), and humanity has been forced to defend itself on multiple occasions. From out of this turmoil The Vindicators have stepped out from their shadowy labs and outposts to begin opening working with the UEE Advocacy office, expanding their holdings across a multitude of areas.

We are security, scientists, bounty hunters, explorers, miners, scavengers, racers, merchants, traders; we are the people who watch over you as you sleep.
