History

Welcome to The Frontier, an organisation born from the shared experiences and aspirations of UEE veterans who have ventured beyond the boundaries of the United Empire of Earth in search of a new life on the rim. Our members have found solace and opportunity in the desolate and isolated desert environment of the Dellin region on Charon 3, a planet nestled within the Charon system.

Having chosen the path of independence, The Frontier stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of those who yearn for freedom and self-determination. Faced with relentless attacks from Vanduul and other adversaries, our resilient members have forged a close-knit community, relying on their resourcefulness and courage to safeguard their existence.

The harsh and unforgiving conditions of the rim have demanded the establishment of divisions dedicated to industry and commerce. Through their unwavering dedication and ingenuity, our members have successfully created a self-sustaining economy, ensuring not only their survival but also the flourishing of our community.

Beyond mere survival, The Frontier strives for excellence and prosperity. We foster an environment that encourages innovation, determination, and an unwavering pursuit of greatness. We believe in honing our combat skills to maintain a formidable defence against all adversaries while simultaneously excelling in industry and commerce, fostering growth and sustainability.

Central to our values is the unwavering support and respect we offer to our members. We believe in standing by each other, offering assistance and guidance even in the face of the most challenging circumstances. We prioritise the well-being and safety of our members, striving to create an environment that nurtures personal growth, happiness, and prosperity for all.

At The Frontier, we embrace diversity of thought and respect the freedom of expression. While fostering an inclusive environment, we encourage the exchange of diverse opinions and beliefs, recognising that it is through respectful dialogue that we grow stronger as a community.

The Frontier stands as a symbol of resilience, independence, and the unwavering human spirit’s yearning for freedom. It is a sanctuary for those seeking a fresh start, a place where shared experiences and shared objectives shape the destiny of its members amidst the ever-present perils and triumphs of life on the rim.

Charter

Rules

  1. Absolutely no discrimination/denigration of any race, religious group, sexual orientation, etc.
  2. Be respectful of all members.
  3. Be respectful of those in leadership roles. They are here to enable and help you, even if you disagree with their decisions.
  4. All boils down to don’t be a dick.
  5. No IRL politics.

About our Org

Fun is priority

First and foremost, we want everyone to have fun. We aim to be a serious org (but not the boring kind). We get our enjoyment from conducting missions and actions in a serious way with MilSim style organisation, communication, and processes.

Inclusivity

We want this to be an inclusive environment, but to a point.
  1. Everybody’s welcome, but don’t be a dick.
  2. Don’t put your opinion above others (unreasonably).
  3. Just because you’re offended, doesn’t mean you’re right. Take a step back, take a breath, then discuss your concerns.

Excellence

Excellence is the goal for the org, but not the standard for each individual. The org will incentivise initiative, productivity, and dedication, but not punish the lack of those things in an individual – we all have a life and this is just a game.

Leadership Enablement/Empowerment

We want to enable our leaders to make decisions and take actions based on their own initiative – empowering leaders to act within their scope of responsibility is key.

We also want to enable non-leaders to become leaders. Anyone that has an idea, raise it to your Division Commander, then do the prep yourself. Your Division Commander is there to help you achieve and realise your idea. You are empowered to speak up with opinions and suggestions, however that does not mean you are empowered to complain. If there’s something not right, do something about it. Be the change you want to see.

Minimum Age

This is an adult server with a minimum age of 18. Exceptions may be made by Commandant or by the Division Commander majority vote. AND ONLY WITH EXPLICIT CONSENT FROM PARENT/GUARDIAN.

Griefing

Due to the EXTREMELY subjective nature of what exactly griefing is, the following statements are provided to serve as guidelines to all. They are not intended as hard-set rules, and will be subject to change as necessitated by incidents. As precedence is set, it will also be utilised to assist in the decision-making of leaders when accusations of griefing are made.

Our Definition of griefing:

To play the game in such a way that the primary objective is to ruin another player’s experience. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Any behavior listed on the game company’s site as griefing.
  2. Repeatedly conducting the same/similar actions over and over with no other objectives other than to annoy somebody else.
  3. Knowingly and repeatedly attacking new players, excluding clear self-defense.
  4. Utilising game exploits or severe gameplay imbalance to undermine a server event.

The above statements are guidelines. Any accusations of griefing will be investigated and discussed among leadership, and any accused will have ample opportunity to explain/defend their actions. Punishment for griefing will be proportional to the offense, and may be anything from a short timeout, to a complete ban and must be approved by a majority of Divisional Commanders with pardon authority resting with the Commandant. The onus of proof of griefing is on the accuser.

Conflict Resolution

Leadership will always strive to walk the fine line between protecting freedom of expression, while not allowing actual discrimination/denigration of a group. Confict resolution is outlined below:

  1. Moderation
Members will always be encouraged to communicate and resolve their conficts with each other privately. If this is not possible, moderators may be utilised for moderating and resolving disputes. Moderators may also actively become involved at their discretion. In all cases, moderation will be kept confidential.
  2. Leadership Review
Should moderation fail, escalation to leadership is warranted. A moderator may decide to escalate to the appropriate commander for further guidance.
  3. Appeal
Any member has the right to a single appeal of a decision. If they choose to make that appeal, they should keep in mind that they may be risking a less favourable outcome, which will be considered final. It should also be considered that at this point confidentiality may be lost. Appeals will be heard by the division commanders, excluding any DC that may have been involved with the original decision. Both sides will present their statement, with the defender speaking last. The original decider(s) will make themselves available to explain their reasoning for the original decision, if that is necessary. Precedent shall also be considered. The Commandant may choose to be involved or not, and also has the authority to override/veto any decision at any time.
  4. Pardon
A full pardon may be issued to any individual by the Commandant, or by the Divisional Commanders in unanimity.

Membership

We are currently recruiting for members of the org. You will initially join as a recruit – this is to create a layer of recruitment where people new to the game can learn and new members to the org can see if both we and you are a good fit. You can then be recommended by any two members of the org to choose a Primary Division – this can happen at any point, including straight away.

Primary Divisions are split into the following categories and do not restrict your gameplay specifically to this type:

  • Frontier Rangers (Combat)
  • Frontier Outlaws (Piracy/Privateering)
  • Frontier Cooperative (Industry & Commerce)

After choosing your Division, the Division Commander will give you a challenge to complete. Upon successful completion, you will be inducted into your chosen Division.

If you are a member of another Org and want to do some inter-org gameplay, please feel free to join as a recruit and then message in SC-General and we can make a separate section for you.
