Following his mustering out of the UEE navy, Cylawyer spent his savings on a modified Retaliator and founded RATS as a for profit venture conducting contract salvaging of ships and other space structures for Insurance companies along the frontier of UEE space.
Cylawyer quickly recognized a need for the transfer of small goods shipments, barter trade and currency exchanges on the frontier. RATS expanded into this niche, providing a service to those who cannot trade directly in UEE space.
With the acquisition of a small exploration vessel, the Origin 315P, RATS has moved away from contract salvage, finding direct for profit salvage to be more profitable than the pittance paid by Insurers. The 315P allows easier and quicker exploration of space with a history of activity likely to produce derelict finds, thus facilitating direct profit salvaging operations. Although their is more profit in direct salvage operations, RATS may still conduct contract salvage from time to time.
To facilitate clients’ need for a middleman to offload goods that our clients are unable to trade directly. RATS offers shipment to UEE based merchants for those who are no longer welcome in UEE space. Our percentages will remain competitive when put in the context of our clients’ risks.
“The Insurance Company’s job will be easier to find, but a free salvage IS a free lunch!”
Members shall conduct fair trades and barter exchanges with clients. Our members will also conduct contract salvage operations and perform exploration missions to find new barter partners and derelict ship hulls for salvage.
Members are expected to serve the clients with honesty and integrity.
