Nova Syndicate is not a single organization, but a collection of smaller organizations. These orgs will work together to solidify and form an alliance that will last into Star Citizen’s release and beyond. It is an alliance of equals, where no one member dominates the others.
In 2950, the leaders of DAEINT, D’vali, and Exiles all met aboard BloodEagle, D’vali Prime’s, Origin 890 Jump the Honor Bound to discuss the formalization of their unofficial partnership. Daedalus Initiative’s new CEO, Jarac Rassen, was young and full of energy, as were the new Director of Intelligence (nicknamed SM326) and Director of Operations Frygten. The Director of Industry, Chilly, was older and served with Jarac’s father when he was CEO. He tempered the three young DAEINT leaders and asked them to be patient as they undertook this process. D’vali’s Consul, Sevidicus, agreed. BloodEagle also wished to forge an alliance with DAEINT and Exiles but wished to be careful in crafting it. Exiles leaders Vengeance and Minza were also eager, but were patient and asked the same of their three young DAEINT colleagues. So, the three leaders would begin months of talks in their steps for establishing the Nova Syndicate.
It was BloodEagle who gave the name Nova Syndicate to this new venture; alluding to the supernova which would be born quickly and in an expansive, massive burst. Rassen would forge the manifesto of Nova Syndicate; imbuing with the principles of the three organizations. Vengeance and Minza would create Nova Syndicate’s Charter, explicitly laying out the rights and privileges of its members. Finally, the three organizations’ leaders agreed on what Nova Syndicate was: an alliance of smaller organizations that shared the principles which bound them together: fellowship, service, anti-piracy and mutual benefit. The three organizations had spent decades performing joint operations. They were not just an association of organizations, but a type of brotherhood that was forged in difficult times.
At last, with their work complete, DAEINT, D’vali, and Exiles launched their partnership on October 1, 2950. The Founders hoped that Nova Syndicate would become a bastion for smaller organizations across the Verse. While each organization is small, united they would forge a powerful pact; one that would never be broken
This document is a proposal for what Nova Syndicate (also known as “NoSyn” or simply “the Syndicate” to its members) is and what it strives to be. This document is a work in progress.
What is Nova Syndicate?
The Nova Syndicate is not a single organization, but a collection of smaller organizations. Its goal is to be an alliance that is global in scope. These organizations come from North America, Oceania, Asia and Europe, with the goal of expanding to bring in more smaller organizations. These orgs will work together to solidify and form an alliance that will last into Star Citizen’s release and beyond. It is an alliance of equals, where no one member dominates all of the others.
2. Who are the orgs that make up the Nova Syndicate?
Nova Syndicate’s orgs are all independent; sharing common interests. They range from very specialized to generalist. Daedalus Initiaitve, D’vali, and Exiles are its founders. These organizations believe in long-term planning, securing resources, creating joint ventures and coming to each other’s defense. In a Verse with large, 1000-person orgs, the Syndicate works to give the smaller orgs an edge.
3. What does the Nova Syndicate believe?
All organizations of Nova Syndicate must discourage piracy. The Nova Syndicate believes in protecting the soverignty of its members. The Verse has many unique, smaller organizations that wish to maintain their identities and cultures. When one member of the Nova Syndicate is threatened, the other members pledge to defend them. It is to be an alliance of equals, where all member organizations have an equal say.
4. What does the Nova Syndicate do?
The Nova Syndicate has a short-term and long-term plan:
a) The Nova Syndicate will begin as a group that agrees to equally share in the tasks of creating and running NoSyn events. These events are meant to give the members of each organization somethng to do and to foster cooperation. These events range from combat to industry.
b) The long-term goal is to foster a growing sense of community between these organizations. Through these events, they will get to know each other, learn each others’ strengths and weaknesses, and defend one another. Trading, scientific ventures, and joint operations are the means to strentghening these ties. Through cooperation and mutual trust, these orgs will grow richer and stronger together.
5. Who runs the Nova Syndicate?
The Nova Syndicate is an umbrella of the different organizations. It is the medium through which they all work together. The member organizations selects “Org Represenatives” to serve their interests and to be the main points of contact between all member orgs. How the member organizations do this is left up to them. These Org Represenatives will work to create policy for NoSyn, issue NoSyn contracts and (with the blessing of their respective organizations) represent the interests of NoSyn to all outside organizations and groups.
6. How does one join the Nova Syndicate?
The process of joining Nova Syndicate is a cautious but rewarding venture. The interested organization states their intent to join and submits their application. This application will consist of the organization’s name, ideals, leaders, activities and a paragraph (or more) explaining why they wish to join NoSyn. The interested organization must fit within the Syndicate’s culture, as outlined in points #2 and #3. The Org Represenatives will spend time reviewing the document, questioning the applicant, and getting feedback from their respective orgs. This process is to last no-more than a week.
The Org Represenatives will schedule a final meeting for discussion and voting. For the vote to pass, there must be a two-thirds majority of Org Represenatives who vote yes. Being present is key. Those who are not present or do not send a substitute in their place will not have their vote counted, although they can send their thoughts in writing. If a vote is passed, the Org Represenatives must notify their orgs and the future org of their success in joining Nova Syndicate. Onboarding will begin shortly after.
7. Why Nova Syndicate?
The Verse needs a Nova Syndicate. It needs someone who will stand for the little guys. Star Citizen is a game that is in development, and this can be tough to mantain activity. NoSyn thinks in both the short and long-term. It belives in creating a community of organizations that will come together and suppot each other’s endeavors. It strives not just to be a group that comes together for one event out of the month or every two weeks and goes home, never to see each other until the next meet-up. It is a long-term partnership, where each organization shares in its victories and riches, and supports each other during hard times. It is a fellowship of friends who will move throughout the Verse together, and create a lasting impact
