History

EST. 2049 – NE settles its headquarters on MicroTech after concluding liquidation of its initial ArcCorp real estate.

2050 – First assets acquired. NE breaks open an Argo Mole, Prospector, ROC and a first shipment of miscellaneous equipment.
Nordhaven forms partnership with Elysian, a lawful PMC consisting of combat professionals from the New Eden galaxy.

Manifesto

We claim our space – this is NE’s mission. Opportunity belongs to those who reach for it. Our stretch will find its way into industries related to production of components, weaponry, and ship hulls.

Our costs are our focus. Above all we strive to deliver product on less UEC than anyone else, and to deliver equipment where it’s lacking.

All types of membership are welcome; members, affiliates, and hidden affiliates.

Charter

Keep one philosophy with you – enthusiasm for the big picture will lead where it leads; strife or prosperity. Make sure you benefit by the end of the road. Keep to this, and raise up your fellow members when they show that brand of enthusiasm. Our corp will reward such strength.

Upon official recruitment when game is live, each member is offered a short questionnaire about their goals. All members benefit from transparent peers. Enjoy the community. All are encouraged to ask for help or offer a hand. People who stand out will be the first considered for roles and ranks. Please note that ranks are not for perks, but rather, ranks in NE are used to keep track of people with keen strategic ability.

ROLES
Members can ask to be put on an official “roles” list. These roles help inform Nordhaven of how much power we can project across space during “deployments”. No need to worry about this system most of the time once Star Citizen is live. Moreover, don’t worry about Roles at all for now if it pleases. No penalties for anything for quite a while. “Deployments” are going to remain informal for a long time following this edit of the charter on December 6th, 2050. The following is what to expect and it serves as a good way to get feedback to RubberDorky concerning organized group events. Please let a board member know if you’d like to share ideas about this system. So far here under “Roles” we’ve discussed that anyone may just ask and receive roles, such as fighter pilot, refinery foreman, mining laser operator. There is one responsibility to discuss and it comes with many caveats and questions; so these things will be explained.

Also, Eve players will be very familiar with this type of responsibility and as such they are VERY welcome here.

Whenever too many members are ready to fill a role, and a member wants to do such a role, they can still join in during group events, but “deployments” are different. If someone wants to fill a full role officially, pilots and crew can be given a few chances to qualify for the role they requested. If that member can handle some basic tests better than their peers, they earn that role immediately and the board may expand the fleet or ask a lower qualified member if they’re interested in other activities. Roles only apply when operations are in progress. If for example you’ve been granted a mining pilot role, you can still party up and do whatever you’d like. This can’t be clear enough, as we’ve gotten many questions about this. Short answer – no worries, it’s casual with opportunity for deeper participation. When “deployments” are underway, the members who have asked for roles will have at least minor responsibilities, explained here.

When a member gains their first role, they instantly rank up. This is void if that member is already a advisor, director, or a board member.

It is the boards responsibility to declare official deployments at least one week ahead of time. This is to give role-holders enough time to either ready themselves, or find a replacement from the org. If corp leadership cannot manage to give one week’s notice, it’s unacceptable for us to expect all the role members to be there on time ready to go. This is our promise.

When a member holds a role, they can still play however they’d like almost all the time. When deployments are announced with at least a week’s notice, the member would plan on being where they’re needed, when they’re needed, reasonably equipped. When a member can’t fill that role they still have a responsibility to that slot. Following a “vacation day” request, they would either find a temporary replacement or relinquish their role to another role-applicant, chosen at the discretion of the Board. Either way, role-holders are expected to at least look for a replacement.

The previous rule is void if the Board doesn’t give at least one week’s notice for a deployment. When voided, the rule goes back into effect for any deployments within one week of the end of the effected deployment.

If a member wants to leave a role, their rank is adjusted back to where it was before they took the role unless this member can find an equally competent replacement (OR) if this member can qualify for another role which is empty. The Board reserves the right to block that transfer and all role transfers must be approved by one Board member.

RANKS
Ranks are very simple – you can earn ranks through showing intuition and applying teamwork & leadership skills. They differ from roles in the obvious capacity but also in that ranks are not granted upon request, while roles almost always are granted.

The ranking system, in any navy or military/industrial power, are utilized for providing the entire group(but mainly the event organizers) the ability to quickly identify who possess relevant leadership qualities. If you find yourself very skilled at other things and don’t see your rank climb to the top, it’s nothing to take personal. Ranking is less traditional here because it won’t determine pay or privileges. A member might be an Ace pilot and notice they’re essentially outside of the ranking system. In such cases there may be special rankings that branch off from the typical tree. Members like this would fit into special forces in other powers, but as you likely know special forces groups on Earth have THEIR own ranks. Maybe that will develop here. Depends on necessity.

DEPLOYMENTS
Official deployments will be announced by the Board only. During deployment hours, roles are filled, and the groups will carry out operations ranging from mining to trading, combat drills to escort. Official deployment hours will never be more than one hour, but members are welcome to continue to fill their roles as long as they’d like. No one will ever be penalized for leaving an operation after the one hour mark.

During deployment hours, the highest ranking member is in command. This means despite their role, the commanding officers will be the only ones to voice commands. This will prevent confusion and promote efficiency both in combat and business. All members can offer their input, and it’s especially welcome when such a member still clears communication to listen to interruptions from their officers.

COMPANY ASSETS
5%(tax) of mining yields will be collected, stored, and used by NE for liquidation, refining, or future land claim construction projects.

Nordhaven assets can be requested and used by anyone with rank above “Junior”. If 24 hours notice is given to the Board, the asset can be guaranteed as long as it isn’t scheduled for a deployment or another member. If you give them a date and time, a Board member will tell you where the asset will be located. Then when it’s time, they will log on and access the asset for you. It is your responsibility to be at the location in time, but the Board member is expected to be in regular communications with you to maintain clarity on the time and location.
