Mega Mongs is a completely casual, here to have fun and chill group.

We also help our partners out in our spare time with whatever they need in whatever way we can that doesn’t kill them… well, most of them.

Jack of all trades master of fun.

History

Our history as an organisation.

Dictionary; Mong – A person who has an intellectual disability. Or in our case, is an amazing idiot.

We started our journey way back in 2018 with the creation of our discord server, Mongs. Since then (and way before) everything we have done has been in spirit of our true self’s, Mongs.

Until we found ourselves in the Persistent Universe. It was a very scary place, within the first 2 minutes of playing our founder jjetstreamm killed himself in the tutorial by running out his hanger into space before the doors could close… spoiler alert, he wasn’t wearing a helmet… or even a space suite.

One thousand bug related deaths later and here we are, our own organisation in the game. Not just a standalone organisation, but a part of a bigger cause as one of the heads of Ad Astra. Our umbrella organisation, with the likes of Brute Haul, The Benjineering Project and Space Rats. Ad Astra is a welcoming casual community!

Our first encounter was against an outlaw group XenoThreat as they launched there most brutal campaign of violence in the Stanton system, and the Navy called upon us brave pilots to help combat the scourge. And we thought we was the idiots. The Navy, calling us for help. HA.

After that we had some downtime, helping Benjineering out with some salvage contracts. And hunted some bounties (its crazy what they ‘used’ to carry on their ships…).

Invictus launch week was a blast, followed by a foundation festival where we helped some new comers, or at least tried to.

And then we had Jumptown. Everyone’s favourite drug running event… and boy did we run some drugs. took them all to the authorities of course, like the ones at Brio’s Breakers…

And then we was called to arms again as Blockade Runners, this time for the CDF against, well we cant actually remember. But we was told to get the Zeta-Prolanide back from these pesky bastards and so we did. Protecting the stations and supplying cargo to those in need.

Then the time came, Citizen Con 2954. Oh boy was it a good one, Genesis, Valakar, New systems and road to 1.0. Our minds were melted by the end of the second day. Sadly Brute Haul wasn’t able to attend in person, however Mega Mongs, The Benjineering Project and Space Rats were there in full force.

And then we ended the year with IAE and Luminalia. What a year 2954 was.

We didn’t get much of a break going into the new year as the worm hole for Pyro opened and the Save Stanton event merged to Fight For Pyro. Chaos was everywhere. The Splicers with an Idris, us with a Polaris. Some say it was a dual of the fates but we came on top victorious. turns out we are pretty good at blind firing size 10 torpedoes from a Polaris. who would have thought.

The fighting didn’t end there though, well into the new year plans unveiled and gang wars begun through out Pyro, Citizens For Prosperity, Headhunters and the Frontier Fighters. It was revealed the Headhunters were really the ones behind the Stanton attacks disguised as Splicers framing them for the attacks.

Supply Or Die kicked off with a rush to resupply our chosen gangs, we fought for the Headhunters (they looked cool) and spent countless hours salvaging ships with Mega Mongs Reclaimer callsign “Tyrannosaurus Nommer” and Bengineerings Reclaimer callsign “Luna Basilisk” contracted to us in Stanton and waste metal abandoned around the Lagrange points of Microtech. One we had enough we banded together with a fellow friendly organisation MiliCorp.
They sent us escort fighters and cleared our drop off locations keeping the area safe. We used Benjineering’s Polaris callsign “Lightblade” and Mega Mongs Caterpillar callsign “Astraeus’s Prison Wallet” to ferry the cargo safely to the drop off locations. With MiliCorp brave fighter escort taking down any local pirates we successfully made all 12 small salvage delivery’s and 1 large salvage delivery completing our mission and all returned home safely.
Polaris “Lightblade” completed its first mission with Ad Astra here and survived without a scratch.
Named after our late fallen founder CMDR-Lightblade o7

Manifesto

We are a proud casual community, we play to our moto “Jack of all trades, masters of fun”.

We are a part of a larger umbrella organisation Ad Astra and help our neighbouring orgs out with any task they throw at us and almost always find a way to put our own fun twist on it.

We welcome players of all skill levels and interests! At the end of the day if you’ve had fun, you’ve won!
