History

2929 Founding of Skylar Industries

Humanities’ love for speed is nothing new and races have for the longest of times been an excellent place for people to mingle and share ideas both in business and technology. It was hence at once of these events 3 rather unlikely would be partners crossed paths in a bar after the events of the day.

First of was Nirun the youngest of a wealthy business family, on one of her last trips in the family name before she was to be sent out on her own as per family tradition. With years of training and handling business deals all over the verse that were deemed to be just a tad risky she had built up a large number of contacts.

Second was Cr45h3d, ex military now team owner and operator of one of the support racing series for the main murray cup event. With a naval school of engineering background and a decent level of success his goal was to make the next step up in the ladder in the racing world, but to do that money was needed and few companies with those funds were not already invested.

Finally Carde an expert financial analyst who had been dragged along by a high ranking executive of the corporation for which he worked. It was meant to be a “show how nice we are” trip, to get him to sign a contract extension, but in reality he spent most of his day just telling his boss what was and what wasn’t a worthy business to deal with.

What happened next was a conversation at the bar where Cr45h3d tried to get Nirun interested in a sponsorship deal, but Nirun, knowing she had to soon make money on her own and not spend it, was not too keen. Overhearing this, Carde broke into the conversation and soon the 3 started talking about a wide range of options as it was clear all 3 were in need of change in their life by choice or otherwise. Several more chats over the following months and it was decided that they would throw in their capital together and found their business which would become Skylar Industries.

They brought a lot of their starting equipment second hand from Carde’s internal contacts, with Cr45h3d overseeing their refurbishment and Nirun ensuring they would set up shop and securing their first contracts to supply prefabs to several moons.

2935 Founding of ISTI as the holding corporation

With Skylar Industries construction growing across UEE space and beyond, and a growing mining fleet to manage, it became clear that change was needed to keep the organization efficient. To this end the founders of Skylar Industries founded the Interstellar Investment Group, ISTI. They transferred all the shares of Skylar Industries to ISTI and each took hold of 1 of the 3 shares in ISTI. From this moment onwards ISTI became the holding corporation for all the entities under its control.

2935 Founding of Dvergar Mining

Dvergar mining was founded days after ISTI and it would procure the full mining fleet, operations and other related assets from Skylar Industries, which in turn would focus solely on the construction side of the groups business. Dvergar was at the time the business that would see the greatest form of investment from the group as it was considered critical to the future plans of ISTI to be fully self-sufficient.

2935 Founding of ISTI Finance & Investment

Also founded on the same day was ISTI Finance & Investment to handle the group’s internal finances and act as its own bank. It also handles the group’s external investments & general market speculation.

2940 Founding of Astra Space & Air Travel, ASAT

The next business to form under ISTI was Astra Space & Air Travel, ASAT, commonly referred to as Astra. Initially it was intended to simply provide logistics to the group, however it quickly became clear there was a larger market to be serviced. Shortly after the cargo side the PAX side was also launched to move ISTI personnel and offer charter and later line services to the wider public.

2944 Founding of Phoenix Services

Phoenix services was a rather logical addition to the portfolio as the group continued to grow and expand. It was clear that it would be more efficient to bring the services of refueling, repair & general servicing of group assets under a single umbrella. The assets and people that managed these roles were acquired from the existing group entities and it remains to this day one of the more agile units in the group. It is one of the more commonly known names as it offers services to both the group and the wider public on a larger scale. Many stranded pilots have been saved by Phoenix Services.

2949 Acquisition of Lynx Security

Acquired in 2949 the formerly executive security agency Lynx Security has since grown to be quite the respectable combat force. However despite the growth they never forget their roots and to this day Lynx Security offers security services to the group on personal and operational levels. Their trademark is all about remaining unnoticed, which is achieved through extensive intelligence operations followed by planning and deploying as necessary.

2949 Founding of Valkyrie Medical

The latest addition to the ISTI group is Valkyrie Medical. With the ever increasing size of the ISTI Group it was deemed a requirement to have their own dedicated medical branch, which can ensure the health and safety of the staff when working out there in deep space often away from medical facilities. As with all of the group’s businesses, the main focus is the group’s internal operations but they offer services to third parties and often work together with Phoenix Services and Lynx Security for those external contracts.

2953 Present times

The ISTI group can be considered close to, if not in, its final form in the current day and age. With this has come a desire to expand the size of each business unit as the verse is entering a new age of conflict and opportunity. Conflict might be raging but business goes on and the construction business is a booming enterprise from building new industrial hubs to rebuilding efforts in wartorn areas. Sticking to the philosophy of maintaining as much as they can in house, ISTI seeks new staff to manage all these roles in order to ensure the final product gets completed on time and on budget for the client.

What is ISTI

ISTI is a fully fledged corporation built up as a holding company which in turn owns and controls separate specialized companies that are part of the group. Each of these offers players a unique set of experiences and operates both as its own independent unit, but also supports the group as a whole. This means for you as a player that you will be working together with people in a wide range of fields but also are free and encouraged to take up work from outside contracts if desired. There is never a dull moment when flying under the ISTI banner.

As can be seen in our history the main corporation of ISTI is Skylar Industries, our construction company. The other companies all have been formed or acquired in order to support Skylar and the group as a whole to ensure we can create the best product for our clients. Such supporting services include things like mining to ensure we always can supply our industrial needs, security to keep everyone safe and sound, but also service branches such as logistics, repairs & medical.

What we do

We supply the verse with the best outposts, space stations, resorts, houses and anything else that has to be built. In order to do this at the highest standards possible within tight deadlines we have a full vertical integration setup meaning that from A to Z everything is in our hands to minimize the degree to which we are affected by market conditions, conflict or other negative events.

In order to get this all done we mine and refine our own resources, which are then stockpiled in strategic locations across the verse ready to be used by our construction crews. Of course the verse is a dangerous place hence we provide our own security and services effectively handle any situation, such as hostile activity, mechanical failures, injuries and more. After all, we want to ensure we always deliver the client’s order on time and within budget.

What we offer

A well organized and structured corporation that offers a broad range of activities for its members. One of the advantages with ISTI is that we actually pay our members to partake in org activities from contracts listed on our website (when available in the live game), to resource buying programs, to running things like logistics, security and more. We also hand out bonuses to the members on a quarterly basis depending on the organization’s results. The more active you have been the higher your bonus will be.

All of this to say is that we do not expect people to work for free because you are part of our org, we understand that you as a player want value out of your experience both in having a great time, but also in getting rewarded for your activities just like of you would sign up for a mission in game.

We also aim to offer a wide range of training courses to our members from videos to in person training. So if you are not familiar with a gameplay loop, but want to partake in it, we have you covered as we welcome people to broaden their skill sets as this is to benefit both the player and the organization as a whole.

What we are looking for in our members

We are looking for mature and dedicated players who want to enjoy the game in a social and easy going environment. We therefore expect everyone to have manners and respect your fellow colleagues and crew members.

Follow the command structure of the organization as a whole and during operations the given field command structure to ensure safe, smooth and profitable operations.

We do not support piracy or other illegal activities that would give ISTI or its members a negative reputation, for which we do not allow any of the aforementioned within our ranks.

ISTI does not ever accept any form of discrimination, derogative or hate language.
Remain polite and respectful in conversation, we are not the Vanduul we are a civilized people and should behave as such.
ISTI members represent ISTI and are expected to show ISTI in the best light and not talk ill about ISTI or its members in public. Complaints should always be handled through the appropriate internal channels.
ISTI members are expected to be honest and up front in their dealings inside and outside of the game environment.
ISTI members are expected to follow the laws and regulations of the UEE.
