History

iRuin’s history is long and distinguished. Most of us are vets from EVE online…. while others found their way to us from WarThunder, Dayz, SWTOR, and such…

We are just a group of guys (1 or 2 of them women I think) who enjoys playing games together…

Charter

The Charter

. I. Respect

By being a member of the iRUIN Community, you have agreed to abide by the rules and principles stated in this Charter. First and foremost, we are here to be judged by our game play. While we do wish to be recognized for our talents, establishing a positive image in and out of game is a not a priority for us. Promoting a competitive environment is our primary aim.

Trolling and smacktalk are strongly encouraged during play and with our victories, but it is also to be tempered in defeat as we are not sore losers (this is especially true in organized matches and tournaments). Always remember that when you are communicating with others, be it on the forums or in-game, you are representing not only yourself but iRUIN.

The iRUIN membership is a tight-knit group of friends from all walks of life and all parts of the world. While we often joke, chide, and berate each other, it should always be in good fun and never personal. In short, if you don’t know the difference between friendly trolling and just plain being an asshole then please don’t try to troll.

On the flip side, if you can’t take a comment about your country of origin or questionable parentage, then you may wish to look elsewhere. We are here to play games, not to mediate petty disputes between members.

1.1 Live Streaming & Recording

All members of iRUIN are welcome to stream or record their game play including Teamspeak 3 voice chat. Be sure to give fair warning prior to streaming/recording and please denote it in your nickname on Teamspeak 3. i.e. “USERNAME [Live Streaming]” or “USERNAME [Recording]”

II. Cheating

As a member of iRUIN the use any form of third party software for the purpose of cheating will result in your dismissal. This includes any software that provides you a unique advantage during game play. Totally serious here.

We do not care if you AFK Grind or the like because if you are busted for that you simply give yourself a bad name. The use of AIMBots, Wall Hacks, Speed Hacks or other cheating tools will put a black mark on the entire outfit and we will not hesitate to throw you under the bus for the sake of the organization. I was just “Testing” or “Trying Out” hack programs are NOT accepted excuses.

III. Communications Teamspeak 3 and Forum Etiquette

If you are in-game and part of an active community run group you are also most strongly advised to be on Teamspeak 3. Not only is it important for communication in order to be competitive in most multiplayer games, it is also our lounge. Even if you are only joining iRUIN to play a specific game we encourage all members to socialize and form friendships as that will be what keeps this organization active in the future.

If you don’t have a headset and mic please come back when you do. If you can’t afford one please go get a job and stop playing video games. While that may seem a little harsh but we believe in the philosophy that the forums are simply a place to pass on information and share in some fun.

If you want to have a serious conversation with someone the typed word isn’t the way to do it. This, without doubt, will lead to e-courage knee jerk responses that are in most cases reactions toward you reading something the author never intended it as.

The forums are maintained and paid for by iRuin Gaming and the generous donations of our members. They can and will be moderated if a member of staff thinks you are being a dick.
