History

Evelynn Brooks founded The Initiative shortly after the destruction of the Messer regime. She grew up during the Imperator’s transition of power from 10 to 11. That’s when she starts questioning the role of government and military power. She joins the navy to become an officer, wary of money and status corrupting leaders, but still supportive of the overall mission.

The Initiative began as an effort to educate the public and prevent future corruption by spreading truth, inspiring curiosity, and exposing self-interested leadership.

Manifesto

Ex astris scientia – From the stars, knowledge

First and foremost: find ways to explore new lands without exploiting them

Responsible discovery, responsible research, responsible diplomacy.
An infrastructure to sustain those efforts with farming, reporting, mining, shipping, plant research, and data research
Be adventurous
Be the first to report on an important topic
Find resources, but do not hoard them
Making money for the good of the community
Discovery is in the eye of the beholder
Developing mutually beneficial relationships with other races and cultures
Information gathered should be available to all and not limited to any one government, corporation, or military entity.
