Haven Salvage and Repair was founded in 2951 as a new entry to the repair, recovery, and salvage market.
Based out of Area 18 on ArcCorp in the Stanton system, they maintain a comprehensive fleet of specialized vessels that are ready to provide repair, salvage, and recovery services on demand.
Due to unstable market conditions and the inherent unpredictability of demand for salvage and repair services Haven Salvage and Repair has diversified and currently provides multiple other services. We’re here to help however we can.
Haven Salvage and Repair is dedicated to getting ships moving, one way or another.
We maintain a fleet of utility ships able to respond to most situations. If you need repair, refueling, recovery, or salvage we can help.
In an increasingly chaotic and violent universe you need someone you can depend on, and we want to be that someone. We try to keep paperwork to a minimum to save time. So if you can pay then we’ll get the job done. If you have something worth selling then we’ll buy it. If you need a ship moved then we’ll move it. No extra hassle, no dumb questions.
In the case of salvage claims, we are very flexible but maritime law and tradition set out very clear guidelines that we try to adhere to. So that we’re all clear and on the same page here are those laws and traditions as we follow them:
When property is lost at sea and rescued by another, the rescuer is entitled to claim either the salvaged property or a salvage award on the salvaged property. This applies only to inanimate objects. There is no such thing as “life salvage” and all mariners have a duty to save the lives of others in peril without expectation of reward. Consequently, salvage law applies only to the saving of property and we will always do whatever we can to prevent loss of life in the case of an emergent situation.
In general, there are two types of salvage: contract salvage and pure salvage.
In contract salvage the owner of the property and salvager enter into a salvage contract prior to the commencement of salvage operations and the amount that the salvager is paid is determined by the contract. We offer competitive rates on all salvage contracts, with the option for either a percentage share of the salvaged value or a flat fee.
In pure salvage, there is no contract between the owner of the goods and the salvor. The original owner of the property under pure salvage must bring his claim to reclaim ownership in court, which will assess an award to be paid by the owner to the salvager in return based upon the “merit” of the service and the value of the salvaged property. This generally only applies after the fact when the original owner of a vessel wants to reclaim their ship.
The assessment and award process can tie you up in court and red tape for weeks, so we also offer finders’ fees for the locations of derelict and destroyed ships. Come get your payday and let us deal with the legal hassle if anyone comes looking for their ship later!
In regards to gameplay and behavior in universe, all members must follow these simple rules.
1. Never sabotage, steal from, or in any way harm other employees or the company.
2. Always help other members however you can.
3. The job gets done first. If you say you’ll do something make sure you do it. If you can’t, be willing to pay the consequences one way or another.
4. Stay away from the authorities unless a job requires you to interact with them.
5. All jobs are on contract basis only. Take payment up front whenever possible. No refunds.
6. Group operations are paid out in shares when the job is done. The company is paid for any expenses incurred in setting up the job and providing equipment. Then independent ship owners take 20% off the top to pay for fuel and maintenance. Another 20% is reserved for bonuses. The remaining 60% is paid out in equal shares. Bonuses will be paid out based on performance and contribution.
