Hearts and minds, Gentlemen.

Hearts and minds.

History

We are top pilots who have traveled the universe – battle to battle – planet to planet. Seasoned in many trades and arts, we intend to find Top Talent and integrate them within our organization. Taking our ships to every corner of the galaxy, exploring, fighting, trading, and pushing to new limits at every opportunity – we won’t leave any ship untouched. You’ll find some of us on the leader boards, but some of us you’ll never see as there are only stories and rumors. Is this the yearning in your heart? Is your mind begging you to touch and go full throttle to the next galaxy? Guns-A-Go-Go is looking for you, or perhaps you are looking for us…

Manifesto

Furious fire support the likes which are mistaken for thunder, daring rescues & raids riding by the skin of one’s teeth, impeccable piloting alone that will “Shake the gates of heaven,” Guns-A-Go-Go aims to be on the forefront of the action. We’re looking to garner high caliber pilots, crewmen, and more who can and will go above and beyond to edify our community in creative ways and methods.

There is something about dog fighting in zero gravity that gets us going. Turbines revving as they light up the cosmos, Omnisky bolts whirring into an enemy cockpit, intense turns while engaging the hordes as you and your wingman maneuver at the edge of space to victory. Flight lead makes the call: overdrive to the next jump-point, hop out, and talk about the battle over a few drinks. Alternatively, maybe you see yourself securing and trading rarities as you pioneer deep into the void, boarding derelicts while searching for intriguing information and forgotten answers, blasting through space stations to secure them, or manning the guns on a flagship vessel.

We foresee ourselves handling primarily ship based security in the form of escorts, ground personnel, and gunnery (and more) crew and offering these services to others. Within our own group, we’re looking to create a logistical core for trading and other transport duties for in-org milk running. Expanding from this, exploration, salvage, and honest acquisition are our secondary priorities: we wish to always be where the action is and when we’re not, we’re at the end of the void, poking about amongst the dust.

We’ll ride the edge of the knife as we dance into the black; make or break the lines and run them as the wolf pack. We aim to make force multiplier our job description and have a certain qualification for pilots. Though there is no “i” in “team” we want every individual member to be capable on their own, a professional in their own right and for this individuality to be focused in accomplishing tasks. We’ll coordinate teamwork through logistics and tasking individual skillsets to the right jobs branching out from our logistical core, combining these individual skillsets when necessary for the accomplishment of larger objectives. Simultaneously, we want to give members the ability so stretch their skills and work into other roles as they would like to learn in a more comfortable, supported environment with more room to fail. We’d like no one left in the dust, but not everyone is suited for everything.

Charter

Simple, flat, immediate:

Your job, your rules: Every ship is expected to abide by the rules set forth by the job master. Are you managing the milk run? If so, you’re responsible to make sure everyone knows what’s expected of them.

Your ship, your rules: Every crewmember is expected to abide by the rules set forth by their captain. Every captain is responsible for the actions of their crew. Crew members report to their captain, and captains report to the job master.

Your squadron, your rules: Every flight member is expected to abide by the rules set forth by their squad lead and captain. Squadron lead is directly responsible for them and their tasking under the job master, their cargo, while wingmen are directly responsible for each other.

Our actual Org rules are pretty simple, including that implied don’t be too much of a @$#

Job hierarchy is reflective of experience: As members become more experienced with what is demanded of them in the ‘Verse, we expect them to be able to handle some of the management. Even if they aren’t the job master, respect those with experience, especially if dictated as advisory role during the course of the job.

Organization hierarchy is reflective of responsibility taken upon one’s self: What you handle is what you’re willing to handle. Specialize, or take broader responsibilities. Depending on the aid you give us and what you do, we’ll allow you to handle what you want to handle within the realm of possibility and your own personal capacity. However, we do not simply measure personal capacity, but also personal intention.

Access to organizational assets varies upon contribution: In a similar concept to a thought process by Native Americans regarding richness, access to organizational assets varies upon contribution. Even if you’re not up for handling logistical matters, your contribution to the group will be rewarded as best as possible by the group and its assets to aid in pursuit of your goals. Is it just a stretch beyond to get that ship you’re after? Maybe the buy-in on some cargo is a bit too much to swallow on your own? If you’ve proven your worth, we’ll invest in these actions for the furthering of our individual members to further the group as a whole.

Our roles and hierarchy:

The taskmaster sets forth the pertinent jobs for those in the organization: Taskmasters handle the strategic allocation of manpower and direct the logistical matters. Taskmasters are expected to be versed in the nature of the ‘Verse with varying degrees of specialty in order to find profitable jobs and tasks to handle within the organization. Their role is to be apprised of possible viable work that specifically fits the qualities and capabilities of members looking for tasking.

Quartermasters aid the taskmaster in arrangement of logistical assets and handle their upkeep: Quartermasters handle the true logistical matters like ships, ammunition, cargo, and so forth. They are individuals who have contributed to the group and are equally given direct handling of assets pertinent to their skillsets to add to their sum, and in turn the Organization’s. They are also expected to be able to manage enough of an excess to be able to readily contribute to various jobs between the assets under their control to other’s in the organization for the accomplishment of their tasks.

Job masters handle the tasks they take up: Any Org member can be a job master on a given tasking, they’re the ones who have either set forth the assets required to accomplish it or gathered them up within the Org. The position is, still, one of experience and veterancy in regards to the tasking at hand: a job master is expected to hold responsibility for those working at the task under them, the assets allocated to accomplish the goal, and achieve success in the matter, and in that regard, those working at the task should respect the authority of the job master.

Captains are directly responsible for their crew: Captains are the owners or task master arranged operators of a given vessel. They hold command over the vessel and are responsible for it, its cargo, and the crew. Squadron leads are also considered on equal footing with captains, and as such, should be equally as concerned with their charges in the flight, their charges’ cargo, and other pertinent assets allocated to them as a ship’s captain would his vessel were it given to him by the Org.

That’s it? Yep!
No need to endlessly complicate things with role and pointless stratification. Sound appealing? Sign up!
