History

THE ORIGINS OF THE INVERTED-Y

In the depths of Port Renatus on Mars, nestled deep within the heart of UEE space, lay a hidden sanctuary. Here, a solitary Xi’an named T’ek De’mo sheltered his adopted human children. The authorities were merciless, and T’ek fought tirelessly to protect his family, constantly shifting between menial, low-paying xenodiversity hire jobs.

Determined to ensure their survival on the unforgiving Martian streets, T’ek taught the ancient Xi’an martial art of d’synk to his children.

As they grew older, they found themselves conscripted into the brutal mines as depth grobblers, digging for nuggets of neo-plasmin. But every hard-earned credit brought them closer to their dream of escaping Mars and slipping out from beneath the boot of the UEE. Finally, they amassed enough to flee and seek out their fortunes in the Stanton system where the dominant megacorporations could provide some shelter from the UEE.

T’ek’s family found themselves working odd jobs throughout Stanton together or alone, but stand ready to band together to this day alongside new allies in search of fortune and fame under the name of INVERTED-Y.

Manifesto

UEE SOCIETY AND ITS FUTURE

The policy of the post-Messer UEE and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” star systems, but they have destabilized the galactic community, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected humans and non-humans to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Pyro and Nyx systems to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural universe. The continued growth of the megacorporations will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings and aliens to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural universe, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” systems.
