Socialist Interstellar is a radical political movement agitating for consensual, non-coerced integration of the peoples of all systems. Cadres seek to establish a Cosmopolitan Federation of Socialist Republics which is committed to social ownership, representative democracy, and individual rights!

The First Socialist Interstellar was founded in 2439 after peace accords were brokered with the newly-discovered Banu people. Hopeful for the future, an uptick in humanist values and decline of ethnic nationalism propels member parties into many governing coalitions. This alliance is placed under strain with the passing of its 2nd generation of leaders – their core ideology of statist, democratic socialism then yielding to the corrupt opportunism so conducive to faring well in elections. Outperformed by their relatively centrist, liberal counterparts, the SI cultivates populist, pro-corporatist opposition to the establishment to retain significant but never dominant influence.
A second organization going by the SI name emerges by the late 2470’s to reorganize and reinvigourate the Left. Doctrinal disputes ensue. Each branch of the political alliance struggles to find new messages that resonate with humanity. Socialists more often than not fail to secure even state-level elected positions.

Second Socialist Interstellar parties triumph over their predecessors soon after calling upon the United Nations of Earth in 2518 to relocate the capital to Terra over objections that it would risk developing a self-enriching “primate system” around which the fates of others orbit. Sustained criticism of Earth-based “astrocolonialism” ushers in the movement’s heydey during the 2520’s when sweeping reform proposals and progressive coalition partners enable the SI to assist in forging a United Planets of Earth with re-calibrated balances of federalism.
Parties of a reorganized Third Socialist Interstellar remain prominent until public perceptions of alien life darken and internal feuds over how best to dismantle the capitalist system give rise to a fourth movement that rejected the gradualism and social programmes for developing systems of their rivals in favour of rigourous redistribution schemes and integration with fellow sentient species. Both networks suffer during 2541 as Teravan provocations make their allophist and interculturalist ideals appear indicative of “anti-socialite” mentalities ignorant to the cold and uncomfortable realities of a universe where human survival is not a given.
In 2546 the Messer regime bans a wide range of political currents critical of his actions. The general public rejoices and SI is discontinued until 2573 when government plans to terraform Tevarin worlds and its ongoing repression of radical elements brings former members of socialist parties out of retirement. They convene a summit on Stanton II but it is infiltrated. Goons of Hurston Dynamics contact the authorities. A raid on the conference results in nearly all of the senior party officials getting imprisoned or executed.

Dissidents organize a motley assortment of parties on the frontier worlds with militant manifestos, creating a Fifth Socialist Interstellar. What little sympathy is afforded to them in the core is overwhelmed by the Advocacy’s ability to track down and assassinate labour organizers. Co-opted firms assist in the effort and endear the movement to abused workers for the first time in decades, giving rabblerousers from this era a romanticized, in part historically-revisionist reputation of being freedom fighters made into martyrs.

A tumultuous period follows during which the movement loses its identiy and lacks a consensus over how to defeat Messerist leaders. Cadres of the Sixth Socialist Interstellar are promulgating Banu-Sapien Syndicalism as of 2724 and the Seventh receives covert aid from the Xi’An starting in 2726 to wage a frontier terrorist campaign for their cause of Minarcho-W’kellinism. Parties associated with the Eighth – formed in 2731 – were more accommodating with their populism and became an effective, meddlesome source of moles and provocateurs tasked with executing attacks against government agents still loyal to the UEE.
Messerist puppets masquerading as well-behaved protesters and activists establish a Ninth Socialist Interstellar in 2789 once the real rebels are finally sent packing courtesy of Advocacy reprisals. An alarming number of these new officials running affiliate parties have ties to prior incarnations of SI, revealing in hindsight that the Imperators have long had eyes and ears in haunts once thought to be secret. For awhile the broader membership is wrangled into pursuing courses of action that pose no serious threat to imperial security.
Poorly-coordinated elements splinter away after the Massacre of Garron II in 2792. Yet they continue to act in the organization’s name. Once jostled out of orbit around establishment elites these renegades become instrumental in feeding misinformation to party handlers in the final days and hours leading up to the coup. Widespread distrust of the group on account of its corrupt reputation are its undoing, with the Fair Chance Act of 2795 depriving socialists of their last bread-and-butter issue with most sentiocentrists and pro-democratic moderates.

Effforts to generate interst in organizing a 10th Socialist Interstellar fail in 2870 amidst optimism from all across the UEE as its government unveils an inspirational PR boondoggle known as the SynthWorld programme. Radicals accept that capitalism is still firmly entrenched and again turn their attention to local politics. They enjoy very few bastions of popularity and soon fade into the white noise of other alliances vying to capture minor parties.

Onerous socioeconomic conditions late in 2929 finally succeed in uniting the Tenth – though it still falls short of its boldest aspiration of enticing the Transitionalists to become a major party SI affiliate. Support is drawn namely from advocates of frontier solidarity, opponents of Project Archangel, and intellectual elements disenchanted with the three dominant, major parties. Today – in 2945 – armed assets of the Interstellar operate in space for the first time in living memory, so as to provide protection against corporate abuses, Vanduul action, and ravenous packs of pirates who imperil workers and the NGOs trying to aid in their development.

The Tenth Socialist Interstellar is founded on a premise that sentients all across the galaxy live in social conditions of their own design and accordingly owe it to both themselves and one another to build up a new order in which the most basic of their needs shall be invariably satisfied, empowering the individual and collective alike.
We advance a noble cause with determination not to use violence as an instrument to impress our views upon others. Affiliates instead get out the vote, participate in peaceful demonstrations, and work alongside leaders within the establishment to bring about meaningful changes to society. Love is our weapon and fuel.
History, however, is swift to remind us these sentiments are all too often unrequited. The Interstellar is therefore in the process of establishing bases of operation in the core, as well as in the frontier, using abandoned UEE facilities and low-profile settlements as staging points for sorties of mercantile and combat vessels.
With the help of wage earners, freelancers, technicians, educators, social workers, pilots, and anyone else willing to pitch in we aspire to elect our people into office, provide sanctuaries for those who come to us in need, and take the ongoing Struggle to lairs of tyrants and slave drivers everywhere for the sake of everybody.

As a broad, tolerant, inclusive movement we ask affiliates only to refrain from espousing political ideas that involve use of violence against political rivals, establishment of a de jure or de facto authoritarian regime, or persecution of particular social groups. The SI does not condone celestialist, stellarist, or xenophobic views.
For the time being our dominant tendency is Redalgoan Socialism, which would entail: constitutional republicanism, interstellar regionalism, liberal democracy, market socialism, contract collectivism, cooperativization of UEE firms, sentiocentrism, universal citizenship, a basic citizen’s income, and reduction of trade barriers.
