History

The Australian Veterans Order of Gamers (AVOG) was founded in 2023 by a group of Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans and friends who shared a passion for the game Star Citizen. The founders saw an opportunity to create a community that would provide a supportive and communal space for veterans to play together and connect through their shared interest in gaming.

The initial meetings were held in small groups, with veterans from different branches of the ADF coming together to play Star Citizen and share their stories. As word spread, the group grew in size, and the decision was made to formalize the organization as a not-for-profit entity to better serve the needs of its members.

AVOG quickly gained popularity among ADF veterans, and the organization continued to expand its membership, focusing on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members. The organization’s leadership team, consisting of the CEO, treasurer, and secretary, worked tirelessly to establish a sense of camaraderie and mutual support among members.

Today, AVOG is a thriving community of ADF veterans and friends who share a bond forged by their military service and a passion for playing Star Citizen. The organization continues to focus on providing a supportive and communal space for its members, offering regular meetings and events for veterans to connect and play together.
