History of the Ashavan
Our esteemed leaders have summoned a conclave to put into writing the foundation of our Faith.

2075: Dr. Scott Childress tries to free our people by creating Quantum Technology. His employer, Chris Roberts of Roberts Space Industries, quickly publicizes and markets the technology for worldwide access and use.

2108: With the death of Roberts, Quantum Tech. becomes highly regulated and corporations are given essential control of the technology and its future access and development.

2200: After more than 200 years of space ‘exploration’, Old Earth’s orbit has become hazardous due to masses of ‘space-trash’. This danger to future space travel necessitated the development of a new type of Civilian-Contractor, hired as Privateers and tasked with Salvaging space-trash, to create a planetary orbit safe for space exploration and travel. History soon repeated itself and with the development of a Privateer force…Space-Pirates emerged as an inevitable force of balance. Research & Development, travel, and even salvage became risky prospects as simply going to work, might get you robbed and killed…over a few pieces of scrap that could be sold on the black-market. Salvage…had become Life-Blood.

2532: Aegis Dynamics Founded.

2546: The United Planets of Earth becomes the United Empire of Earth; U.E.E.

2845: Drake Interplanetary formed to compete in a military-contract competition, seeking to capture funding for research & development.

2921: Birth of En-Mahaksapatalika, the one whom they call, “The Archivist”. Founder of the Ashavan.

2922: Drake Interplanetary Founded, as a Military & Civilian starship manufacturer.

2938: Drake Interplanetary develops The Vulture, a personal salvage-vehicle.

2947-2948: Drake Interplanetary CEO Jan Dredge implicated in the now infamous ‘Pirate-Scandal’.
[Privateers cost credits…Pirates don’t.]

2950: Revelations from the Pirate-Scandal cause public support for privateers to wane and the U.E.E. outlaws ‘Corporate Privateers’, instantly labeling them all as Pirates. The Archivist, a long-time privateer with Drake Interplanetary, is labeled a Pirate and his assets are confiscated. During the raid on his residence, his wife was accidentally shot and killed by U.E.E. Sergeant Meebus. He, like many others during the ‘Cleanse’, disappeared off the grid and are assumed to be dead, as casualties of war.

2953: With Salvage Operations now being controlled by the U.E.E., They partner with Aegis Dynamics to develop The Reclaimer. A large salvage ship to be used throughout the system for ‘official’ salvage operations. This effectively re-legalizes Privateers who now go by the title of ‘Salvagers’. These ships instantly became a hit with the underground Salvage-Pirate community, tired of spending weeks on end cramped into a Vulture. ‘Salvagers’ were constantly being attacked by ‘Salvage-Pirates’ and all of a sudden the realization sinks in. Nothing has changed. Salvage is still Life-Blood and now the U.E.E. was trying to make a profit.
