In 2951 retired UEE Marine Arrog, had grown uncomfortably concerned with the growing lawlessness that plagued his home system of Stanton. Multiple outlaw gangs such as the Nine Tails, and the NovaRiders terrorized Stanton while the mega corporations focused their resources on the protection of their own assets. Many of the people of Stanton found themselves falling victim to the crime lords who roamed the system leaving chaos in their wake. A large number of private militia groups under the Civilian Defense Force initiative or the CDF, rose up from the battered citizenship throughout the system. They set off to do a job the mega corporations failed to do themselves and meet the challenge forced upon them by the criminal syndicates. To Arrog this was great but the CDF was supposed to be preparing for a possible call to arms against the Vanduul, not against outlaws that should have never been allowed to grow so strong. To relieve his stress caused by the lack of leadership displayed by the mega corporations and to take his mind off of the current state of Stanton, Arrog would meet up with his close buddies from his days with the Marines. On a night while deep into drink and stories from their former days of glory, Arrog, Rex, and the bear Asbjorne decided they had finally had enough. Stumbling through the streets of Lorville the three drunken old war vets found themselves in the office of the CDF. For a few years the three fought against the outlaw syndicates who seemed to of had unlimited resources. Against the CDF forces in Stanton who relied mostly on personal resources for ships, equipment, and weapons, the crime syndicates seemed to be unbreakable. It was during the many down times needed for refitting their redeemer the three discovered something largely lacking within the Stanton CDF. Everyone always spoke of the glory in victory or of heroic displays of bravery but rarely were the vast numbers of missing persons reports mentioned. Using each of their unique talents the three changed gears to focus primarily on all manners of search and rescue operations. This decision would see the birth of the Advanced Medical Emergency Rescue. A specialized team of combat medical rescue marines dedicated to combating the loss of civilian and militia lives.
