Where does the Orion fit in?

Good day Citizens,

To start, i normally am not the type that posts anything but as the game develops further and further with new ships from all kinds being added, as a early backer that followed the game since the first rumours, and the introduction of a relatively new ship, i feel the need to put up a post about the Orion, the ship that has been on the ship list for almost as long as i can remember.

The Orion, why don't i call it the RSI Orion i will explain later... But what a lovely designed (on pictures) ship with potential to be a industrialists dream. yet so early announced, yet so far from seeing it making its debut into the game. and now that the RSI Arrastra is introduced, wich seems to be better in alot of ways, I doubt it will in its current stats. Outclassedand hadowed by it's younger brother the RSI Arrastra it seems to be doomed as it is.

What do you mean?

Next is where my concerns are for the Orion are mostly, the stats... For a bigger ship with exposed cargo rotation around its core and less cargo compared to the RSI Arrastra, the Orion seems quite vurnerable to pirating and losing cargo. where as the Arrastra has most of it's cargo well tucked away on the side between the hull of the ship and some internal capacity as well. besides that, the defencive capabilitys seem to be better with the RSI Arrastra since your with a crew of 5 (if playing with the max crew numbers) that can man 3 remote turrets, and the pilot seems to be able to shoot 4 S3's as well, where as the Orion it looks way more questionable or it can defend itself succesfully. for the Orion it is still quite a mystery since there are no added stats since it was announced, so this might change when and if it actually comes...

So why not RSI Orion?

The reason why i do not call the Orion part of RSI, is because it just does not fit in. even before the RSI Arrastra it did not look like a ship from RSI. And now, with the Arrival of the Arrastra, wich fits the RSI family perfectly, the Orion just feels like an outcast in the bunch, the black sheep. shame for such a nice, good looking ship.

Where are you going with this?

The Orion being a total outcast in the RSI family, and with the Arrastra as a more suitible ship in it's catagory for RSI, i would rather see the Orion be part of (hear me out on this) the DRAKE Interplanatary family. With its industrial look, massive engines, exposed components it just fits right in, and fills the overall Mining/Refinery ship spot in the DRAKE family perfectly.

A ship to a different brand, HOW???

YES. with a good background story it should not be to hard to be able to sell the Orion to be a DRAKE Orion instrad of RSI Orion. (or even rename into something else but that could be confusing of course). next are two scenarios for this could be the following:

-The RSI Arrastra arrived, so the RSI Orion production would be stopped since it would be outdated. Instead Drake stepped in and decided to buy over the concept, blueprints and needed patents to start the DRAKE Orion production with some (or not) modifications.

-RSI Designer working for RSI quit his job because the Orion design was not what RSI had in mind. so the Designer/Engineer started looking for a company willing to accept his Orion Design, wich would be DRAKE Interplanatary.

So yeah,

This is how i feel about the Orion and my opinion for a great and positive change for the Orions place around the verse. tell me what you think and any (structural) suggestions are welcome.
