I'll use both for the next issue and see which people prefer.

    Good call.

JooMag worked OK for me. As with other people, if there were ads, adblock must have killed them. It's method for zooming is a bit odd, but overall I prefer it to having to open another browser (as Firefox is my regular browser).

Well, they call me the chief for a reason!

(Actually, no one calls me the chief. I might add that to my to do list...)

Thanks for the info Pistolero, this kind of testing is really helpful! I'll see how JooMag goes for issue 2, if people like it we might just move to that.

Congrats Feylan on your historic double-MVP!

I'm gonna have to start calling you Colbert.

    Pulse for Internet Explorer users

:P I think if you did a little research into your demographic you could save some time and effort.

Excellent work, I love the mag.

I did not read this entire thread, but incase no one mentioned it.. I noticed there are (or at least it looks like there are) hyperlinks in the Mag... they don't appear to be clickable? or am I doing something stupid?

Excellent magazine, thanks Feylan et al. Looking forward to reading issue 2.

Would like to see a direct link for a PDF version, the zoom options were not great especially on a Retina MacBook Pro so the text was too small.

Is there a way to download it as pdf? I do not particularly like the interface; 'unfocuses'/ blurs when scrolling/ moving the page. Great effort though.

This is great, but do you mind throwing up a torrent or something for the PDF so I don't have to use the online reader?

My problem is that because I am getting old :), my eye sight is not what it use to be, if I zoom the page, there is no slider to move the page up and down??, did I miss it??

Looks great and looking forward to reading it in it's entirety.

    Cheers

He said he wanted to track the number of readers. Not sure if you can download from magcloud but yeah it would be cool to have a way to easily DL it.

Many thanks for the work and effort in putting this out. Excellent job. Can't wait for subsequent issues. Thanks to all who were involved!

Chalk up one vote here for JooMag - I thought it a far better hosting solution.

Well, that was a bit of a surprise! Sorry for not hanging around to answer questions after WMH, it was 3AM here and I sort of crashed :-)

Congratulations Pokinatchapunx, Malleovic, SilverVolpe, Rod-Serling and NueBlue, it was your hard work that got us all the MVP! Thank you so much for everything you guys did, and for contributing when Pulse was just a hazy idea I'd posted about.

    Thanks again Echo!
Thanks Seraph, personally I've always seen you as more of a Jon Stewart ;-)
    Thanks Andy, Schmidtrock, Murder!
Good point Geezus, we actually got the advice on how to make an IE friendly link from one of our readers, so they are out there!
Thanks Aarioch, Pulse on JooMag has better hyperlinks, give that a try. We're working on fixing that problem for issue 2 though.
Thanks gouranga, good luck with your magazine! Once it's off the ground maybe we can work out some way to do some English to German and German to English translations :-)
    Thanks Rocker and Morphe!
Thanks Runebinder, Klomp, Nullus, Roo, Pulse on JooMag has a download button at the top next to the facebook icon :-)
Thanks Hajima, we'll be doing JooMag as our main option for issue 2 based on all the feedback.
Wow Blackbird, The S.U.N. Flare looks fantastic! You guys make my feeble InDesign skills look even feebler :-) I'll definitely leave a couple of comments, and if you guys want any help with anything let me know!

Thanks so much guys, when we started Pulse I had no idea it'd grow like this. We now have over 17,000 readers for issue 1! Pulse will be coming on a fortnightly basis, so issue 2 is coming out on February 2nd and has a lot of great content and improvements over #1. We've worked hard on improving the readability of the magazine, and with JooMag it's much easier to download and read when you want.

We're always in need of writers, researchers, editors, artists and graphic designers, so if you'd like to help us out just send me a message or email starcitizenmagazine@gmail.com. I really want Pulse to be by the community, for the community, so the more people who work on it the better!

Finally, thanks so much Ben @wcloaf for the second MVP, giving the MVP to everyone who worked on Pulse was such a great thing to do - all I've really done is come up with the idea, those guys deserved it much more than I did.

Just a small heads up that we're currently looking for more graphic designers to share out the load a little better. If anyone's interested, let me know.

    Congrats on MVP!

I missed this, even though I'm fairly active so I'm once again surprised how closely CIG seems to be watching the boards ;)

Will be interesting to see how this develops up until and especially after launch. Are you looking for any kind of contribution, specifically?
