    As far as I know, the blender render engine is dead, focus is on cycles and I think it's really easy to get better results with it. And by following Blender Guru's tutorials it will even get easier.

    I downloaded Filmic Blender today. I tried it out on an old render of a Bushwhacker I made a few months back, and got better results with a few tweaks to lighting strength and the coloring of one of the materials
