Bounty Pricing System on Criminals

Going after a bounty (criminal) may cost you more in fuel than what the bounty is worth. There for the PU Criminal should show much there bounty is worth before a bounty hunter goes after him. Bounty marks on the PU should have bounty payout shown. Why would I go after a low payout bounty if I can find a high payout bounty.

And if a criminal shoots a bounty hunter then the criminal should also get all of the bounty hunters stuff since the hunter is dead and his clone is some where else on some space station. The criminal bounty should be raised to at least equal all the equipment he has.

Criminals should be able to kill bounty hunters in the PU.

    Step 1. Check wanted Boards.

Step 2 is whatever it takes to claim the bounty.

Welcome to the madness! Wrt to being able to recover items from a corpse, CIG have confirmed that - Player looting possible:

"Audience Question: If a player is shot, will another player be able to come and take the first player’s actual inventory items? Or will loot be generated randomly for the victor?
A player’s body can indeed be looted for the inventory items he/she has on him/her at time of death"
    Searching characters for weapons likely:

Notable Joe asks: Will I be able to search other players for weapons before they board my ship? This way I can prevent a mutiny or a pirate catching me off guard.
CR: That’s a pretty good idea and suggestion. I don’t think it would be that particularly hard to do and I think we would want that as a mechanic – that someone could scan someone and see if they have a weapon or not and say that you’re only allowed on if you don’t have a weapon. That would probably be a functionality we would want to put in the FPS module. We already have some other kind of functionality which includes scanning and looting off people and stuff like that, so I think that would be something that I think we would add to that. Because, yeah… you want to make sure that people aren’t packing and sometimes they say, “I’m not packing.” But, what if they are?

    First person inventory interaction:

On the FPS suit side of things we are taking a hard look at our inventory management. We’re trying to figure out how the player’s inventory will work while in first person, how do you loot, how do you change loadouts, how you reload weapons and all other activities that involve items the players might be carrying with them.

so, yes, if the bounty hunter gets killed, his killer can collect as much of his equipment as he can carry and vice versa.

We don't have any information, yet, on pricing, but CIG have indicated it will be a viable career, so payouts should be commensurate with effort involved and possibly also with risk; known killers are going to command a higher price than pirates who leave their victims alive to tell the tale.

    Cheers!

Sorry, @Warlord-616X, CIG are onto you - Rob on avoiding bounty hunting exploits:

Q: is there a mechanic to stop people with bounties from collecting their own bounty?
A: You can't collect your own bounty, for sure. As for having a friend kill you, we'd have to think a little about that. Maybe you can't collect a bounty from someone you've had on your friends list... it'll need balancing.
